    satyam is regionally biased.
even the training at slc-hyd which they claim to be world-class is co-ordinated by some fcking commander who i doubt knows anything about hr policies.all he is interested is in sex and girls!
and their hr managers and reporting managers
    all fcking south indian fools!

Also …a sincere request from all the existing satyamites……….The HR as well as the sourcing team of Pune is just pathetic….basically they need to undergo lots of training regarding ways to talk to peope and handle delicate issues…..Further rather than ruining everyone’s career, they should think of making up their own lives…..

Hi … I m a new joinee in Satyam. My interview was cleared in the Nov.06 .however I was being given the offer letter only in Jan07 . Thereby I lost the opptunity of be appraised for absolutely no mistake of mine.

It is suggested that all the associates shud be appraised irrespective of their date of joining. However the salary hike may be done on a prorated basis.

Wait…. thr’s one more thing I’ll add, if you’re stuck in a project, technology for more than 18 months, you have formal processes in satyam, whereby you can even by pass your reporting manager, to move on to something new. I dont think they have such a process in any of the other indian companies.

    Hi all…..

I am very much a Satyam employee and joined satyam as a fresher. I have pretty much gone through all of this crap mentioned here. But let me tell you what I have experienced in my past 2-3 yrs experience with satyam. Would like to give my personal opinions/arbitrations/reservations on some of the allegations i came across on this blog list. Please note that I am rt now taking time out of work (pretty loaded) coz I felt xtremely offended about some of the comments a few loosers have attributed here, in what I suppose, is a bid to tarnish the company image, simply coz they are loosers

    1. 3 hikes in one year – My dear friends, dont expect even the biggest of IT companies, not just in india, but, the whole world to give 3 hikes in one year. What it meant was about the compensation offered to new joinees (not necesarily freshers), which, I am sure you all agree, is spiralling. I dont know how much or how many times it has changed with satyam, but let me tell you that satyam offers as competitive a package as any other Indian company offers. In saying that, plz let us be realistic in not comparing the offers to Google/Microsoft. But net offers sometimes do vary, depending on technology, experience and all that.

    2. No hikes in the initial bond period of 2 yrs for freshers – This is of the dumbest of comments I’ve across so far. Like every other company, Satyam also gives confimation appraisals on completion of the first yr, (with mandatory promotion from apprenticeship). I must consider myself a lit’l unlucky to have lost out on revised confirmation appraisal increments, but hey, I have no complaints, as these things happen. This is great news to all you freshers out there, they give a decent sum as part of your confirmation.

    3. General system of appraisals – This would be one of the processes, which are not all that well arbitrated in the organization. You cannot really expect huge increments. I have seen people absolutely crapped on, and I have also seen guys who’ve got huge favours from the system. But hey, again, all these happen in all companies. If you feel you’ve missed out on anything, you always have the freedom to move on. Appraisals happen every year(april to july), by the way.

    4. Bond breakage – Lemme tell you one thing. When you start posting ur resumes for better opportunities, it would always be great if you have a minimum of 2 years of exp behind your backs. So I dont think it would be necessary at all to think about it in the first place. 2 years simply fly away, jus lik that, or at least I’ve felt so. Now more so, coz you’ve a good reason to keep ur track records clean, as all companies are very strict about background checks these days, so you wouldnt wanna take a chance in leaving a puddle open somewhere, which you might fall into, later !!!

    5. Cabs and shifts – Who da hells that guy who said satyam doesnt provide good transporation, cabs’n stuff. Guys, satyam doesnt provide cab service for offices within city limits. But trust me, they do provide you with free cab and transportation for offices outside the city and even free food (Pizza or wotever) for late stay. Offices outside the city or not, satyam even gives you a reasonable sum of money outside your salary, for any shifts other than the general shifts, even afternoon/morning shifts, as shift incentives. Even TCS and Infy dont give you this. As I’ve got to know from my friends, they provide a meagre sum, that too only for night shifts.

    6. Work environment – Guys, I too am a victim of internal politics, but lets jus say, you can always find a way if you reeely want to. Some people, who are yet to start thinking about improving their communication skills often get trampled on everyday, in every walk of life, no matter how good they are, forget satyam or even IT. Lets all confess that, its the way the world works. I wont say that satyam is an exception to any other Indian company, when it comes to politics. You need to learn the rules of the game and adapt, buggers 😉

    7. Freshers – Hey don look at bulky paychecks alone. Look into what you are falling into. Big shots (includes satyam too) hire freshers by the thousands every year, and surely, more often than not, they end up being scape goats. But lemme tel you this, satyam is by far, the leader in indian companies and also of the best in the world, when it comes to the next level of operational technologies like SAP and strategic technologies like DWBI. I was lucky to get into the latter one, and so were most of my batchmates. At least, most got into Oracle. I have all the more reason to believe so, coz of my batchmates from college who got into the SAP practice. I dont say that every fresher gets to choose what he or she wants to get into. I dont say that in satyam, you dont get dumped into less rosy technologies like mainframe or infrastructure as a fresher. But I sure am saying that you have a better chance to get into something bigger, coz satyam is the only indian company with a substantial practice in these awesome technologies. So, take this advice from me, dont look at company size and business volumes alone. And hey, you dont get to choose what you wanna go into in any indian companies, for that matter. So chill out, and hope for the best.
As far as compensation is concerned, freshers… it aint all that bad wid satyam. They give you what is known as the ELTP retention scheme benefits, which definitely equals and even beats (trust me on this, coz i’m comparing with the sals, my batchmates from college r gettin in infy or tcs). You start benefitting from this scheme at the end of 2 years. Considering this, your net sal would be arnd mayb 50 K (in Rs) less than what you would be likely offered in a new company you would join after completion of 2 yrs bond in satyam. But if you ask me, I would chooose the 2 yrs + of seniority I have in satyam to being a stranger in a new company with a slightly greater pay, coz then I’ll b having the bargaining power for a lot of things (lets say travelling opportunities). Trust me on that.

I hope this’ll clear out a lot of myths… Hope i’ve helped a few guys out thr. Cheers

Hi friends this is harish as every one are sharing their views about satyam i too would like to have word …. i feel the only reason people blame satyam is because of the salary ……. only the reason but my dear friends money makes many things money is not every thing in life i can say you one thing a guy working for satyam for two years will equal to any other guy working for any other mnc … the way you develop here at satyam is some thing which can not be expressed… so friends leave your bad views abt satyam and come and join satyam hope we will meet there at satyam…..

Hi all, I have been working with Satyam for 3 years now. I joined Satyam as a fresher. From my experience at Satyam i can tell you that it has treated me the best way any Indian company can treat me. If you are good they care for you. But yeah, there are some units which are bad. But then you cant blame the company for that. Even if you work for Microsoft or Google there would be divisions which are bad. My manager (s) treat me the best way. They give me the opportunities and the challenges and they really boost my confidence. I finished my two year bond and then i didnt want to leave the company just cos of the way im treated. Mind you my dear friends salary is not everything that you got to work for. Now regarding pay, luckily the time i joined i had stock options and i hold around 300 shares of it now. They give me bonus of around 40k every half year from the time i completed two years, since i joined as a fresher.. If i take all these into consideration i would say they pay me at par or more than any IT big sharks of India. Before you spit venom and vengeance out of some personal grudges with some manager or HR understand that a one off experience is not the experience of the mass.
Now work culture: – I can tell you for sure that there is no other company which offers you as much job security (maybe TCS also) and relaxed work environment than Satyam. Satyam is the best place if you want to settle down as a tech lead or manager at one place.

HI, I had worked for 7.5 years with Satyam and recently moved to Infy. And am finding that things are same at Infy too. For mid level and senior level, Satyam is definitely the place to go. Now they are giving good offers, couple of years it used be bad.At Satyam, decision making is right from level of a project lead. And there is so much freedom to do lot of things…

To work in satyam , you don’t need to be a hands on Techie…But you MUST know act like that. If you r really a techie guy & if you proove that once, then you have to do work for others for ever like till the project closes…. New Joinees: Don’t worry, only think just see the place sourronding you & just do a acting like as you know all….
