Apache server rules

The Apache web server is well and truly in control of the web. The Netcraft survey for January 2005 shows that a whopping 68.43% of sites surveyed were running the Apache server. Weblogic, a popular Java application server had just 0.01 % of the market share, well below many servers unknown to most in the Java world.

    Most J2EE app servers, such as Weblogic, run behind an edge server, mostly Apache; the stats at Netcraft can only reflect the usage of edge servers.
