www.JavaBlackBelt.com – v2 launched. Yellow belt available.

This (free) community web site proposes an assessment system where any user may author new multiple-choice questions, and add them in the DB for other users.

There are exams and tests about Servlet/JSP/Struts, JUnit, Tapestry, Ant, JDO, Spring, XML, EJB,…

You may start with the
– OO Basic exam
– Java SE Basic exam
and get your yellow belt!

The DB filled with 3200+ questions in 2005. 10000 questions are expected in 2006.

JavaBlackBelt development has been long. The first Beta has been announced at Javapolis (end) 2004, then v1 on TheServerSide.com in April 2005, then the v1.1 on Javalobby.org in August 2005.

The philosophy of the v2 is to promote direct communication between the question author and anybody. For example, the home page lists the 5 last added questions. People are welcome to comment/edit them, and a mail will be sent to the author who is expected to react. The moderator comes later to check the question and change its state from “seed” to “young”.
