The IndicThreads-DevSquare Weekly Coding Contest has come to an end. The contest presented users with one Java / Java EE problem every week which they had to solve by writing appropriate code. The solution was evaluated on programming parameters – code correctness, compliance with standards, coding efficiency, and coding productivity – and rated.
The contest series winner Vivek Kumar Pandey gets a cool iPod from DevSquare while several others have won music players and some great Java books. Thanks to all the participants who took the time and effort to enter the contest and submit solutions. Thanks to DevSquare for the code evaluation platform and to Apress, Manning and Packt Publishing for providing the prize winning books.
We received 100s of entries to the contest from across the globe. Although the percentage of correct entries was lower than what we had expected, the overall response and enthusiasm of the participants was very encouraging.
Finally, if you are into Java and Java quizzes and contests, make it a point to be at the IndicThreads.com Conference On Java technology 2007 to be held in Pune India on 26th and 27th October 2007. Visit http://conference.indicthreads.com for details. Apart from technical sessions we also plan to have quizzes and contests during the 2 day independent conference on Java technology.
