Uncertainty Over EC Approval For Oracle – Sun Deal Continues

Bloomberg is reporting that Oracle will probably win approval from European regulators to acquire Sun Microsystems Inc. today, clearing the transaction’s final obstacle. However Reuters reported yesterday that the EC could delay Oracle-Sun deal-sources due to fears about Oracle getting MySQL database hurting the competition.

A decision to proceed to additional review would be a major hit as it could last up to four months and potentially push closure into the beginning of 2010.
