Comment by Noname on 2005-08-02 09:39:30 This article compeletely ignores Objectweb Jonas application server, which has also been J2EE 1.4 certified for quite some time. We have been using it in production as it has some real advantages compared to (at least older versions) JBoss (distributed JMS, transactions). So calling JBoss 'light years ahead' of open source competition definitely depends.. |

Comment by Noname on 2006-01-15 11:39:08
The foremost point is that JBoss suite is a comprehensive platform with products like jBPM, JBoss App Server(Web, EJB and Java EE), JBossTransactions(supports TX in WS), JBoss Potal, Hibernate, JBoss Cache to name a few. Jonas application server is just another pluggable component where if you wish you can replace Tomcat in JBoss for this. Comparing JBoss with just the app server is pointless.
JBoss 4.0.3 supports EJB3.0 and the Java Annotation language. One factor for the "light years" phrase.
Has a robust-easy-integration clustering technology based on JGroups.
Being just Open Source does not make best products. The support process is the key thing. JBoss customer support is excellent!
Yes it is an Open Source product and that's your base for sure. Thanks for your contribution.
Dude, talking about reputation, your comment too will not do any bad to Fluery's reputation, so cut the crap.
Partner program is exhaustive. Its not true that THEY are arrogant. Their support and turn around time is way ahead in the OS and the commercial industry today. Please see JBoss Partners. |
