The Apache server hosts a whopping 71.49% of all web sites. Of the 15.3 million Web sites that were part of the Security Space Web Server Survey of August 2004, almost 11 million were using the Apache server while Microsoft was a distant second with a 21.9% share.

48.11 percent sites were .com while .de was second with 7.45%.
