60,000 IT jobs every month

A survey done by Ma Foi management consultants predicts the creation of some 60,000 new jobs each month in India in the Information Technology and related sectors.
Information Technology and related sectors is a rather vague phrase because it might include everything from developing supercomputers to answering phone calls. Yet this should mean that a number of techie (Java) jobs would also get created in India.

the very purpose so many sw companies have started their operation in india is b’cos of the cost & time advantages it provides.
Also we need to keep in mind that so many of us are leading a quality life is b’cos of jobs provided by these companies.
otherwise we would have been in the same pre narasimha rao era.

If this happened, at some point there will be 60,000 job layoffs at some point in the future. America had their dot com boom a few years ago. You saw what happened after that….

Most jobs I think would be in the IT enabled call center line of work. Also not sure how reliable such a survey would be.
