What's better, J2EE or .NET?? What should we pick J2EE or .NET???
These two question seem to come up at an almost annoying frequency. However in the real world, most companies seem to be compelled to work with both .NET and J2EE. It could be some unavoidable factors or whatever but there's no denying that at least for the time being, companies have to live with both J2EE and .NET. |

On Sept 21, open Source firm JBoss become a member of Eclipse Foundation and will contribute code to the J2EE Standard Tools Project. This historic decision was accompanied by the release of JBoss Application Server 4.0, which is recently certified for J2EE. This indicates that the company is expanding its open-source presence, as well as becoming more of a contributor to the open-source community.

I just tried using Jakarta Taglibs. Taglibs are the custom JSP tag libraries referring to the implementation of JSTL. JSP Custom tag libraries and other projects fall into 4 categories as JCP Standardized Tag Libraries, Supported Tag Libraries, Tool extensions and Sandbox. Jakarta taglibs are part of "Supported Tag libraries". |

On seeing that JBoss Application Server 4.0 has been released, I went over to the JBoss site at http://jboss.org and happened to check out the Online Education section on the site. This section lists past and upcoming webinars on many topics related to JBoss and these should be useful to anyody working with JBoss, JBossCache, JBoss Nukes Portal, etc. There are also some webinars that aren't specific to JBoss but discuss issues like EJB3 and Aspect Oriented Programming. |
