JavaOne Pavilion Villages : The JavaOne Pavilion has several special areas that are each focused around a particular theme, including:

Startup Exhibitor Alley : Host companies that are first-time participants in the Conference. Attendees can meet with smaller, creative companies introducing their innovative solutions and services to the global Java technology community. Participants include: Active Enpoints, Applet Systems, ClearApp, Control Tier Software, Determyne, Hello2Morrow, JINSPIRED, Kaizen Technologies, Meetup, Mobile Distillery, Numiton, Protecode, Related Content Database, Sentilla, Twisted Pair, Vringo, WebTide, ZK.

Mobility and Device Village : Java(TM) Platform Micro Edition (Java ME) is the most ubiquitous mobile application platform powering eight out of 10 mobile devices. Attendees can experience the most compelling and successful mobile services powered by Java ME, interact with industry experts, find out about the latest in developer tools and resources or just hang out in the Digital TV Living Room to see how Java ME is powering Blu-ray devices, set-top boxes, DVRs, and IPTV. In addition, by visiting the Mobility and Device Village Information Counter and obtaining ME Treasure Hunt cards, attendees have a chance to win one of the daily prizes.

Community Corner - Sponsored by java.net : This village gives attendees the opportunity to share their thoughts on Java technology, meet and chat with developers, community leaders, project owners, Java User Group members and Java Champions. Attendees interested in a programming challenge can participate in the RoboHACC, which involves programming and obstacle course solution algorithm for Systronix TrackBots powered by a Sun(TM) Small Programmable Object Technology (Sun(TM) SPOT) application. In addition, the Community Corner will have Mini Talk sessions on java.net projects and communities, every half hour during Pavilion hours. Schedule on the Mini Talks is available at: http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Javaone/CommunityCorner.

SOA Village :New for 2008, the SOA Village is dedicated to Java technology-based tools and services for SOA implementations. Information on participating vendors is available at the SOA Village welcome kiosk, along with complimentary copies of “Java SOA Connection,” a custom publication co-sponsored by Sun Microsystems and Extension Media, featuring SOA case studies, best-practice tutorials and other educational content from the Java software community.

From mobile and desktop games from java.com, the Java Powered Tommy Jr. Car and real-time Java control station to a Java Card(TM) 3.0 developer challenge and the winners of the 2008 Duke's Choice Award. Developers can also stop by Sun's “virtual” Java Playground in Second Life, where they can equip their avatar with all the latest Java logo branded goodies, drive off in a replica of the Tommy Jr. Car and more.
