JBoss World was held in Barcelona, Spain from October 10-12, 2005. Here is a quick look at all the notable announcements at the meet.
Drools: JBoss announced that the Drools project (www.drools.org) voted as a community to join JBoss. The addition of Drools, the most popular open source Java business rules engine, represents another critical step in the evolution of the JBoss Enterprise Middleware System (JEMS) as the open source platform for SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture). Mark Proctor, Drools lead developer, joined JBoss as a software architect and founder Bob McWhirter will consult on integration of the business rules engine into JEMS.
JEMS: JBoss unveiled its strategy around the JBoss Enterprise Middleware System (JEMS) as the market̢۪s only interoperable, open source platform for SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture). With many JBoss clients already using JEMS for their SOA applications, JBoss continues to extend JEMS with new and enhanced open source software designed to improve business agility.
jBPM: JBoss announced the release of JBoss jBPM 3.0, the latest evolution of the powerful open source workflow and orchestration engine. A key piece of the JBoss Enterprise Middleware System (JEMS), JBoss jBPM is a safe choice for enterprises and sets new standards in ease of use and mass-market appeal. This latest release further extends JEMS as the market̢۪s only open source platform for SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture).
