The source code for Net-SNMP 5.4 which includes the Python bindings is now available to the open source developer community through SourceForge.net. Net-SNMP project is consistently ranked among Sourceforge’s top 100 current projects.

ScienceLogic Announced the release of source code for Python developers to start using Net-SNMP tools and libraries for network management software development. Until ScienceLogic’s involvement, Net-SNMP APIs were not available for Python language programming.

One of the features that makes Python so powerful is the ability to take existing libraries, written in C or C++ and make them available as Python extension modules, SIP is a tool that makes it very easy to create Python bindings for C and C++ libraries.
