The Google Summer of Code is an annual program first held during the summer of 2005. It’s a program that helps student developers to create new open source programs.

The goal of this program is to get university students familiar with open-source software development by working on a summer-long coding project. Participants not only have an opportunity to work on a challenging project, but also receive a stipend of $4500!

Robin DunnRobin Dunn is the creator of wxPython and the author of “wxPython in Action”. wxPython is an Open Source, cross-platform GUI toolkit for the Python programming language. Robin has been working in the IT industry for almost 2 decades. In this interview he talks about wxPython as well as his other Python projects. He also tells us about his role at the Open Source Applications Foundation (OSAF) and shares his views on Zope, Python and other open source languages like Ruby.
