Open Source Java is going to be a big story

Brian Behlendorf, a well known name in open source, a key developer of the Apache Web
server and the CTO at CollabNet. In an interview with TechWorld about Apache, open source and the future of open source in the enterprise, he says that open source Java in the enterprise will be big story over the next 3 to 4 years.


Q: What predictions do you feel comfortable making about the future of the enterprise software market over the next five years?

Source Java is going to be a big story over the next two or three
years. And you’ll continue to see a dramatic shift away from software
vendors who perpetuate selling expensive licenses and consulting toward
organizations like SugarCRM or Spike Source…
