Andrew Breen has undertaken a survey to capture user views and experiences with various J2EE tools and particularly JDeveloper 10g. The results of the survey could help us better understand how Java IDEs are being used today. His blog entry below tells more…

Hello,

Thank you very much for sparing a little of your time. I am currently a final year undergraduate student studying BSc Software Engineering at Glamorgan University (Wales).

Please take a few moments to read my request. The outcome could prove useful to you in deciding whether or not to use a new Java IDE.

I am undertaking an online survey is to capture your views and experiences of using JDeveloper 10g as a productive web database application IDE. Before I continue, I would like to take this opportunity to stress that your views and experience would prove invaluable to this study.

Essentially, the author of this questionnaire intends to assess JDeveloper 10g as a productive web database development tool for Java developers. A study of this kind, attempts to gather the views of various professional Java software developer?s regarding IDE tools. The outcome / results of this survey will be made known to all participants if requested. The author is looking for ways to highlight easing software production using IDE tools. The author believes that participants can benefit from the outcome of this survey. Such a review might help a developer to decide whether or not to actually use JDeveloper 10g in the future for a specific development purpose.

I would be more than grateful if you were to take a little time to complete all questions, as accurately as possible. Even if you have used a previous version of JDeveloper or another IDE. Please state which IDE that you are familiar with where appropriate

Please take a few moment of your time and click the following amended link to go to the online survey.
